Patience
All good things come to those who wait. It has been an interesting week with it snowing when not forecast and not snowing when forecast, until today when the forecasts snows developed.
We had a surprise dump on Monday that left 10-15cm in the village and up to 20cm on Merritts in just a few hours. I was still getting freshies on Tuesday morning but it was fairly heavy.
Yesterday I didn’t go up and from what I heard it was icy after a super freeze. The snow guns have been very busy.
The big news of the week was the opening of High Noon and although a little scratchy at first, this morning it was a treat with 5cm of creamy fresh on groomed. It was pretty well trashed by the second run and I moved to Merritts before a third run.

High Noon opens for season 2007, Merritts and the Dream Run runout

Monday afternoon – surprise dump

Even the snowplough was left beached

Village Square

No winds with the snows this week

Upper Supertrail

Central Spur and guns blazing on High Noon

Jax at the bottom of High Noon this morning

Powder Bowl still closed

Inbound freshies at Merritts, while Wiamea still out of bounds
There are all sorts of rumours about what will be open this weekend. Hopefully the Supertrail but I have also heard that the Basin and Karels are close to opening and even Antons had groomers on it last night.
Everyone is smiling, including the staff. The crowds were up today and I expect it will only get more crowded from now on.
Ski & board demos are on this weekend.
